We’re all busy, we are all short on time. Therefore garments that can be simply wiped clean surely could be the answer no?
No, you’re probably right.
There is, however a lot of leather, pleather and PVC out there right now… not just in jacket form, but trousers, skirts and shackets. It was of course rumbling around in the autumn and before Christmas, but I/we were probably distracted by sequins and sparkly things, but now, it’s suddenly much more on my radar.
I keep seeing leather trousers that look SO GOOD with a big sweater (see the last post with the fabulous & Other Stories grey jumper, I mean – effortlessly cool)…
The truth is, my current life style does not really require me to stride or strut in leather trews. Were I not 90% home based working from my dining room table and actually based in an office with other real life people, I just might consider something leather-ish/wipe cleanable, and I would stride with confidence, making very important decisions about very important things in very important meetings.
To wear some leather-esque trousers for the school run, without a work meeting to go to afterwards seems a little, well, OTT. Yes, I should get over this and if I damned well wanted to wear them, I should.
As it is… currently I have less need, but you might have a lifestyle that needs a little sauciness and spice added in (leather and the like is inherently saucy I think)… so, in case you were contemplating, or not, a leather, pleather or PVC addition to your wardrobe, here’s what you might want to pick from (I’m leaving leather/pleather jackets to one side for now…). And another thing, let’s also get over the thought that ‘one can be too old’ to wear leather items other than bags/shoes etc – no, if it feels right and you want to, do.
Those that own a pair of leather trousers or leggings from Hush rave about them… I’d go for these if I really had to…

Last but one, a smidge more colour – neutrals – but friendly ones… an alternative from a leather(ish) jacket but more casual?
