So what is a good layering item… that can solve and serve numerous sartorial dilemmas? I’m thinking it could be a shirt.
Right now, layered over a skinny rib polo neck jumper, or under a chunky knit… layer with just vest underneath, or under a blazer or biker.
I’ve an industry trade show coming up in a couple of weeks – I’m Paris bound on the first Eurostar out and back on the earliest one I can justify back. But it will be long enough to catch up with some people, listen to some trend talks and do a forum or two. Get in, get out, and leave everyone wanting more.
There is however, always, the what the hell am I going to wear, boots I can walk in (can’t do trainers as much as I might love… but I need some height to counter balance the mince pie width). Black jeans/trousers?
I’m thinking a shirt could serve me well, under a jacket/blazer of some sort.
There are still some good sale items to be had – even now… go forth, these won’t let you down and will see you through until summer. Imagine.

More casual from French Connection – but I still don’t think this will date… now £25, was £50
Staying with blues that have a hopeful air of spring about them… from & Other Stories now £25, was £49
OK so this is ambitious for now but come April you’ll be so pleased to re-discover this, from & Other Stories now £14, was £45
Slightly more for now… and into Spring, which you’ll be happy to find again come autumn this from Gap, £26.99, was £46.95, I love the embroidered collar, just a bit different.
Another cute stripe, personally, I’d have worn this before Christmas, less so now, but I’d be all over this in the summer with a pair of boyfriend jeans. Gap, button back top £29.99, was £44.95
A print that’s not too scary for a print-phobe… love a ruffle Gap £35.99, was £80.95
