Corduroy. Discuss.
It’s having a moment we have to acknowledge to embrace or step aside? Personally, I like a bit of it. Over the years I’ve dabbled, usually in jean shape, or baggier boyfriend-ish shape. I’ve worn them until they’ve worn out then moved on… I still have a now-faded baggy black pair that have moved more into a ‘slouch’ pair to be chucked on in the evening.
Kicking off with a pair I spotted being worn on Pinterest. I love this dusty pink shade being worn with pale pointy grey boots and jumper.
I found a similar colour in Urban Outfitters, £60 – but cropped… these with a sock boot?
This was another Pinterest find – effortless chic – white shirt & black belt. Winner.
BDG again have these wider leg puddle corduroy trousers, £56.
From Mango £69.99 jumbo cords in Chocolate… the coat also below… oh yes.
From & Other Stories, £69 these wide leg, cropped-ish trousers… I’d want some heels with height to counter balance the width…
In red from & Other Stories, £59, also available in black. Not 100% convinced by the eye-catching front zip…? But love the red shade & high waisted-ness.
More fitted versions, from Next I like these skinny boot leg cords, £28
These washed Berry shade cords defy everything that I usually love about corduroy in that they are faded – its the depth of colour that usually draws me in. But as a firm jeans wearer, anything to mix things up a bit. Next, £24.
Pinafore dresses. A friend of mine has done a sales pitch to me on about the beauty of a pinafore. I don’t really do dresses, or shorter dresses anyway in the way in which I think pinafores work best. But I do get it – they can be dressed up and down whether with a blouse, t-shirt or polo neck to create loads different looks.
This is from Mango, £29.99.
Longer length – to the knee from Next £35
A dungaree (fashion singular) I can see doing a similar thing in terms of flexibility of options.
Dungaree inspiration from Pinterest… I may be slow on the uptake but I am loving the thought of dungaree in corduroy, but am yet to take the plunge – am I too late?
BDG £62, in black. How wrong could this go?
I love the black black of these dungarees above – and their stroke-ability – I’m seeing them worn with a pussy cat bow blouse and boots. Time to set up a lunch date with girlfriends.
