OK so we’ve had a week of cold, warm, sun and rain. So where does that leave us when it comes to getting dressed and not expiring through heat…? Scarves. Big fellas. One of the best items ever to layer on and off.
I’ve talked about scarves before, and will certainly do so again… they can finish an outfit, update it, and they’re warm.
I love a huge blanket scarf – one that means I can carry on wearing jackets and bikers a bit longer into Autumn/Winter, (and later for when Spring comes knocking) but also if I’m wanting to mix proportions and need to wear a shorter jacket to balance out wide leg trouser say.
So, my edit of what I currently love is… starting with monochrome.
I saw someone wearing this, or similar on the tube a few days ago… she looked effortlessly chic, black blazer, white tee, boyfriend jeans, white trainers and this scarf. She looked great. Zara, £17.99
From And/Or at John Lewis, embroidered scarf £40.00
Polka Dots from Zara, £25.99, so love this against the checked coat.
From French Connection, Geometric Scarf £55.00
From French Connection again, Rhea Patterned Scarf £40.00 – this would look fab with a denim jacket… (and shown perhaps on their www how it could be worn to get an idea of size/proportion?)
From Hush, the Love scarf, £55.00. Love. Totally.
Doubled faced checked scarf, Topshop £20.00
Geometric Scarf, from Hush, £45.
Large blanket scarf, Mango £29.99. Big enough that Joseph would be proud.
Big Blanket Scarf, And/Or John Lewis £45.00
From Reserved, £12.99
Zara – super soft scarf £19.99. I’ll take one in each colour thanks.
Next colour block scarf £18.00
Sticking with red/wine (two of my favourite things… eeek.) Checked from Reserved £12.99. Love this with the grey.
Brighter blanket checks from Zara, £17.99
And red velvet applique on grey from Lily and Lionel, be still my beating heart… stunning, £140.00
Oooh there’s much food for thought here… in thinking what blanket scarves I already have in my repertoire, and what I might *need* to definitely update things; I think I’m going to have to go check, and perhaps even with some colour in it – some one pass the smelling salts…
Please, fret not about the lack of animal print scarves… that is coming, stand by.
