Wrap it up
So. It’s August. Scarves are seemingly what we need. I’m never knowingly under layered… and if I get cold I get grumpy.
I’m not talking wool scarves: their time will come… just something light weight that can oooh-up an outfit & mean drafts are excluded.
Other than the (inevitable?) storage issue I do love being able to have a scarf-bank to quite literally pull on.
It took me a while to realise that it was worth (at times) spending more on some accessories as they can transform and make a simple outfit feel that bit more ‘now/relevant’.
I’ve just taken advantage of Hush’s last sale bits and ordered the small star scarf (now £4.00)… inspired by the website photo it will adorn my (now tired, ah) black leather hand bag to just spice it up a bit and eeeek out its existence a little longer.
The other scarf I ordered was the Jana scarf in pink.., this will serve me well on holiday as a cover up, burny-shoulder-protector and then take me into autumn too with a khaki jacket. Saving me the bothersome need of buying a new khaki jacket. A new scarf was all I needed. Who knew?
Since its arrived I just love the colours – brighter than the photos on the website show, can’t wait to wear it. Though trying desperately hard to wait another whole 7 days until we go on holiday.
Blue stripes from hush again, £12.00, was £45.00.
Gap have a similar feel version in blues (£9.99 in the sale); I think these type of scarves get better with wearing & washing (and not too much ironing, though granted, that might just be my laziness).
Punchy aztec with pom poms, Mango, £17.99
Back to hush, (£30.00, was £65.00) love the aztec-ness of this one… not sure why I didn’t order this one to ring the changes from the stripes…
Pale stripes from Mango, £6.99 in the sale.
Moving to a more light cotton or voile feel that perhaps feel slightly smarter and less summery per-se… stripes in silk, from M&S, £25.00.
Conversational bird print scarf, M&S £15.00
Keeping monochrome, animal print textured scarf from Next, I love this, especially with tweed jacket. Hello Autumn.
At a higher price point animal print from Lionel & Lily, £140.00… I’m increasingly falling for everything Lionel and Lily… Khaki + animal = heaven.
And in the red, £140.00… stunning.
From Mango, gorgeous, £15.99, but for a much more justifiable price…
In more traditional tones, animal/spot print with border design in silk from M&S, £25.00.
Some easy florals perfect to layer on, brighten a darker outfit but not shout… Next, £16.00.
Also from Next, £16.00 in navy.
This one from Monsoon, £25.00, ticks a lot of boxes for me with a 70’s sort of feel… I’d want wide flair jeans and block heels to go with. Love the floral and spot combo.
Floral skinny scarf from Monsoon as well, £19.00, navy ground.
Ditzy flower from Mango, £6.99, love this with the pale coat. (Note to self, must be braver with colours of coat… not just black, or navy).
Stars come a close second for me to animal print…
Mango, £6.99 in the sale.
More stars, Mango £15.99. Beautiful.
The styling, the attitude, the everything. Lionel & Lily, £95. Adore.
So now I need a velvet blazer as well…
xx
I love the Scarf Dept analysis … Excellent choices … now I need to look at other areas on your website …
